Hi Divers

The South Coast is always impressive. One day it can be flat calm seas with fantastic diving and the next day the sea is lapping at the carpark with 6 meter swells. While it’s great to watch, unfortunately it has ruined the diving for the weekend.

We did manage to get a few good days of diving in before the southerly hit, congratulations to all our newly certified divers:

Open water divers: Jinyi Tan, Emily Keana, Shawn Sturland, Craig Hale,

Advanced open water divers: Jack Buckley and Donnacha O Suilleabhain

Rescue divers: Aoterangi Cotter and Kiriwera Raroa

Enriched air divers: Brendon Ferris and Jake Pollock

Divemasters Monty Makalio and Michael O’Carroll

Today is the last day for one of our Diploma groups. Tess, Rhy and Chris have been with us for the past 45 weeks and are now fully qualified Padi Specialty Instructors. Tess has accepted a position with MPI, Rhy is heading off to Aussie to work as a Dive Instructor and Chris is looking for work as a Dive Instructor. Well done guys, it’s been a pleasure having you here and we wish you all the best in your new careers. Our next Diploma intake is in August.

Today is also the last day for Instructor Cam. Cam and Eden are off on their OE, heading to Mexico to Instruct and dive while Eden does a Dive master internship. Have fun guys.

Suunto have issued a recall on all transmitters. If you own one, drop it into the shop and we will get it sent away for you. If you brought it off us there is no charge, otherwise $10 to cover freight charges.

No dive club dives this weekend.

Women’s Day Dive has been rescheduled to 9.30am Saturday July 29th.

Dive Wellington has one of the highest rates of female divers in the Country. To celebrate women in diving, we are organizing an underwater adventure dive to give some insight into continuing education courses. We will have female instructors and Dive Masters running the day. Sign up for the dive and some well-deserved treats (a drink and a bite to eat) after the dive.

Join us for just $45 which includes standard cost of gear hire plus a small fee to cover the post dive treats. Of course, we are more than happy for men to join us to show their appreciation too.

Contact us for more information or if you would like to sign up for our Women's Dive Day.

Our Aqualung Rep will be here on Saturday with samples and available to answer any questions. Try one on and come for a trial dive in the pool on Sunday morning. There will be a small fee if you need gear hire as well. Let us know if you would like to book a dive.

We have a few ex hire bcds for sale. One small Aqualung wave $60, one large Suunto $60 and a large Scubapro TBlack in good condition $120

One only Small Omer 5mm camo spearo wetsuit at $300

Let us know if you would like more details on any of the trips below:
