Hi Divers

Well the weather had to turn sometime, it has been an amazing run but it looks like our first weekend of southerlies is here. Not great timing with Sam, Jaden, Nick and Uriah sitting their instructor exams this weekend, but we are sure they will be fine. Good luck guys.

Wellington divers are a hardy bunch and we continue to dive right through the winter ( sometimes the best visibility is in winter ) We managed to get the boat out on Sunday morning with 2 great dives at Karori Lighthouse.

Congratulations to Paul Badco who completed his drift specialty and gained the rating of Master Scuba Diver. This is someone who has logged 50 dives, completed rescue diver and 5 specialty certifications, well done Paul. Also congrats to Scott Bushen on completing his open water course. Lasty congratulations to our very own instructor Sue Byers, on completing her extended ranges course.

For the spearfisher people out there, head to our facebook page Wellingtonspearos for details on our photo competition running throughout May.

DIVE CLUB DIVES....weather permitting

Saturday and Sunday mornings meeting at 9.30am. Remember to book as gear hire is limited.

BOAT CHARTERS are cancelled this weekend due to the weather.

Saturday June 11th 9am...dive the wreck of the South Seas in Wellington Harbor. Only 4 spaces available and you need to be an advanced diver.

Sunday June 19th 12pm for 2 crayfish dives for experienced divers

MAYOR ISLAND AND THE WRECK OF THE RENA Queens Birthday Weekend

The wreck of the Rena is now open to divers and from all accounts it is a fantastic dive. We have had reports of 30 meters visibility and loads of fishlife. We have just 2 spaces available. Just $850 for 4 nights accommodation, 3 days of diving, all meals and we can even supply transport from Wellington if needed.

GET AWAY TO TONGA THIS WINTER

We have just one spot left on our August Tonga trip. A week in the sun, scuba diving and swimming with whales. $4000 includes everything: flights, transfers, diving, whale watching trips and meals.

DIVER TRAINING

We have a Rescue course starting next weekend. Advanced Open Water course June 11th and 12th. First Aid, Enriched Air and Oxygen Provider all coming soon. Over winter our regular courses slow down a little which leaves us a bit more time to run technical courses, including side mount, solo diver, enriched air etc. Keep an eye out for these or let us know if you are interested.

Our next fulltime Diploma intake is August 29th. The course takes students right through to Specialty Dive Instructor and gives them the skills to work in the dive industry. 4 days per week for 42 weeks, they log over 100 dives. Perfect for a young school leaver wanting a career in the dive industry, with student loans and allowances available.

Thanks for being a Dive Wellington customer, we appreciate your business, from the team at Dive Wellington Dave, Paula, Chris and Kelly.
