Dive News: Thu 25 Aug 2016

Hi Divers,

The conditions this week have been just as good as last week if not better! Mermaids Kitchen kept a solid 8m of visibility and we even got a few night dives in on the Yung Pen. We have been making the most of it diving every day, all day!

The forecast for the weekend is a bit back and forth. We have got NW winds predicted with a 2m southerly swell coming in for Saturday and dropping back down for Sunday. Looks like we may get to do a harbour and south coast dive for the club!

Big congratulations to James Smith for completing his Divemaster course, it has been great having him around! Another big congratulations to Chris Andersen for becoming a Master Scuba Diver.

Dave, Paula, and the crew have returned from Tonga - I am sure they will have plenty of stories and photos to share with us, it sounds like they all had a great time with the whales!

Saturday and Sunday mornings meeting at the shop at 9.30am

Tuesday night-dive meeting at the shop at 5.30pm (weather permitting, so please call to book your spot in advance)

Make the most of the early sunsets before daylight saving kicks in at the end of September and join us for the PADI Night Dive speciality. Over the course of three dives you will learn more about exploring the underwater world at night. Price for the course is $280, which includes certification, manual, equipment hire (including torch) and three sea dives. The first sea dive will be on Tuesday 30th August, meeting time at the shop 5:30pm....

And don't forget that this speciality can go towards your PADI Master Scuba Diver rating... Which PADI is offering a free application for until the end of the year! To get the Master Scuba Diver rating all you need to do is complete 5 PADI specialities and be a PADI Rescue diver with 50 dives.

Our next fulltime Diploma in Scuba Instruction course starts at the end of the month. If you know someone over 18 years of age keen to start a career in diving, send them our way. The course is 45 weeks of fulltime study, logging over 100 dives and exiting as a highly qualified PADI dive instructor ready to work in the dive industry.

Thanks for being our customer. Happy diving from the team at Dive Wellington Dave, Paula, Chris, Kelly and Alex
