Hey Divers!

Weather through the weekend looks good for the South Coast - looks like we are in for some Northerlies! Water is super warm up at 18 degrees. We have had some good dives this week in the reserve with lots of fish out and about and good visibility.

Well done to our Open Water students who completed their pool training last weekend. Moving on this weekend to the sea dives where they will do great!

Dive Club Dives:

Saturday and Sunday meeting at the shop at 1pm.

Boat Charters:

Saturday March 5th: Meeting at the shop at 10am. For experienced divers only. 2 spaces left. 

Saturday March 5th: Meeting at the shop at 2pm for ONE dive on the wreck of the F69. 8 spaces left.

Upcoming PADI Courses:

We have a PADI Rescue Diver course coming up on the 5th and 6th of March! The PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you will learn what to look for and how to respond. During rescue scenarios, you put into practice your knowledge and skills!

Freediving Course:

Learn the secrets to free diving with a training course hosted by James Young of Primitive Aquatics - it is one not to be missed! The course is running over March 18th, 19th, & 20th. $350 with a non-refundable $50 deposit to secure your spot. 

Carreer courses:

We have another fulltime Diploma course starting on Feburary 29th! We have been advertising around locally and on Facebook, it would be great if you could pass the message on to anyone who you think would love this course :) If you have any questions or would like some more information, please feel free to stop by or give us a call to arrange a time to chat!

42 weeks fulltime, Monday to Thursday. Become a specialty dive instructor with over 100 logged dives, a tonne of hands on experience and tips on working as a dive instructor. Not a bad way to earn a living, doing what you love! The course is NZQA approved and you are eligible for student loans and allowances.

Dive Wellington Spearo Comp:

Its that time of year again, the Dive Wellington Spearo Comp is around the corner! 2016 Competition will be on the 19th of March, with registration opening March 1st, stay tuned for more info!

TecFest NZ 2016 -Technical Scuba Diving Show

Join Chris and a group of divers from Dive Wellington heading to Lake Taupo from the 6th to 8th May for a weekend of diving. You don’t have to be a technical diver to come to this event, quite the contrary.  The event is an opportunity for anyone interested in this area of diving to try out different types of diving like Full face mask, scooters and sidemount diving, as well as listen to some of Australia’s and NZ’s leading technical divers talking about their adventures. There are also some great prizes on offer for all that attend! Ticket price is $195 which includes two nights’ accommodation, five meals and access to the event. Interested? Next week marks the beginning of New Zealand's annual Seaweek. For the occasion, marine environmental group Our Seas our Future is organising a coastal clean-up on Wellington's beautiful south coast.
