Hi Divers

Congratulations to all our new open water divers: Kate Boulton, Lucy Greig, Will Harris, Michael Colson, Virginie Simao and Lena Kubica, we hope to see you back out in the water for a dive soon.

A big congratulations to Nicole Paul on completing her tertiary training with us. She is now a highly qualified instructor ready to take on the world, well done Nicole.

Yesterday we had orca out front of the shop again, swimming right into the shallows and close enough to touch when standing on the rocks.

Chris and a team of divers had a great trip to the Malborough Sounds last weekend. They managed 8 dives including the wreck of the Lermontov, as well as scallop and crayfish dives. Congratulations to Craig Brady, Ronald Mundell, Geoff Miller and Dave Bristol on completing their adanced wreck course.

Speaking of scallops, not long to go until the end of the season, February 14th.

Unfortunatley this week saw another diver pass away while diving on the South Coast. We don't know all the details but our thoughts go out to her family and her dive buddy. Be safe out there, always dive with a buddy, keep an eye on your air and dive within your comfort level.

Saturday and Sunday meeting at the shop at 9.30am.

No Tuesday club dive this week.

This weekends charters are all full.

Becoming a dive instructor is a great career option. If you like people and sharing your passion for diving, why not join us on our next Diploma course starting February 29th. The course runs fulltime for 42 weeks and includes over 100 dives, plenty of boat dives, a trip away to dive other parts of the country and you exit the programme as an experienced specialty instructor ready to work in the dive industry. Your student loan for the course is around $16k, you can apply for a student allowance and course related costs of $1000 to purchase equipment. Not bad for doing something you enjoy and gaining a career. Email us for a prospectus.

First Aid Course Wednesday February 3rd 6pm. Learn first aid and cpr. This qualification should be renewed every 2 years and is a prerequisite for the rescue course.

We have had one of our female divers pull out of this trip, so we are looking for someone to take her place. Whale watching and swimming, scuba diving and much more. Contact us for more details and pricing.

Have a great weekend from all of us at Dive Wellington, Dave, Paula, Chris, Kelly and Caity.
